reifencom GmbH is Germany’s multi-channel specialist offering a wide range of tyres and wheels. In addition to the reifen.com online shop, we have 37 branches in Germany and a total of 3,750 assembly partners for additional services. reifencom GmbH is active in France, Austria, Italy, Switzerland and Denmark, each with their own additional shop and over 4,160 cooperating assembly partners. The product range includes tyres for cars, motorcycles, off-road and transport vehicles, and bicycles.

Diversity

reifen.com procures branded tyres and rims from leading manufacturers worldwide. This ensures a consistently high level of quality. The offer includes the following product categories in all price and quality segments:

  • Tyres: Car, motorcycle and light commercial truck tyres
  • Tyres for electric vehicles
  • Tyres for vintage cars
  • Bicycle tyres and inner tubes
  • Rims
  • Complete wheels (pre-assembled tyres on alloy rims or steel rims)
  • Selected car accessories such as engine oil or snow chains

Powerful logistics

Our focus has always been on perfectly functioning logistics. This allows a high level of availability to be guaranteed even at peak times of the year, like in spring and autumn. Our logistics centre in Hildesheim takes care of this task, and was built especially for this purpose. More than 600,000 tyres and 200,000 rims are held there across a total area of 42,000 square metres, waiting to satisfy our customers’ orders. At peak times, we send out almost 60,000 tyres and rims onto the road every day.

    Central warehouse

    The central warehouse of reifen.com in Hildesheim is responsible for the storage, picking and distribution of tires and rims. It ensures fast and reliable delivery to branches and customers.

    Administration

    The control center of reifen.com has been located in Hanover since 2017. From here, the various processes in the company are linked and background processes are handled – from management to accounting and IT to sales.

Branch locations

reifen.com has 37 branches in Germany. We are represented with our branches in 20 of the 28 largest cities in Germany and offer our customers professional service for all things pertaining to wheels – including in your local area!

Each individual branch holds an extensive range of new tyres in stock in order to be able to serve individual customer requests as quickly as possible. Whether premium, branded or quality tyres, we have the right tyre for every application.
With over 120 rim designs per branch, we also offer our customers the largest display of aluminium wheels in Germany.

 

Management

In addition to the operational business of reifencom GmbH, the management is also responsible for implementing the corporate strategy. As part of the Apollo Group, the team reports to the board of Apollo Ltd., based in India. The board of managers consists of three members.

1989

The foundation

The success story of reifen.com begins in Hanover with the founding of Autoreparatur Heiko Knigge GmbH and Reifen-Center GmbH.

1991

The name change

With the relocation of Autoreparatur Heiko Knigge GmbH to Bielefeld in 1991, the name was changed to TYREX Reifen-Center GmbH.

2001

The online shop

TYREX acquires a majority stake in Reifen-Center GmbH, resulting in the close association. The online store is then launched at www.reifen.com

2003

2012

The change of name

In 2012, the two companies are renamed reifencom GmbH Bielefeld and reifencom GmbH Hannover.

2015

Apollo Tyres LTD.

At the end of 2015, reifencom GmbH was sold to Apollo Tyres Ltd, a technologically leading and rapidly growing tire manufacturer based in India.

2017

The management

A new management team is appointed in the course of the year: Michael Härle, Ralf Strelen and Arno Melcher. The founders and former owners of reifencom GmbH, Heiko Knigge and Olaf Sockel, have gradually handed over more and more responsibility for the company to the future leaders of the reifen.com Group.
With the new management, Olaf Sockel believes the company is well prepared for the future: “It’s easier to hand over your life’s work when the course has been set correctly.” Heiko Knigge adds: “Carefully shaping the management transition is very important to us, not least for the sake of our employees.”

2018

One company

The previous three reifen.com companies will become a single company, reifencom GmbH, based in Hanover. Heiko Knigge and Olaf Sockel retire from the company at the end of the year and hand over the company to the new management.
The new company structure is intended to reunite all divisions and offer strategic advantages. “The previous structure was historically conditioned and was based on the cooperation of two initially independent tire trading companies in Hanover and Bielefeld,” explains Michael Härle, member of the management board ”We expect the streamlining of the structures to give us more agility and efficiency gains through quick decisions.”

2019

30 years of reifencom GmbH

In September, reifencom GmbH celebrated its 30th anniversary. This was duly celebrated with a gala for suppliers and service providers and a big party for the employees.

2024

35 years of reifencom GmbH

To celebrate reifencom’s 35th anniversary, a summer party was held in Hildesheim that brought the employees together for an unforgettable experience. With many positive moments and a lively atmosphere, the anniversary was a highlight of the company’s year.

The fact that reifen.com is popular with its customers is reflected in a large number of awards. Since 2014, we have received recurring awards for our online store and our branches, such as “Service Champions” (ServiceValue GmbH in cooperation with DIE WELT); “TOP SHOPS” from COMPUTER BILD, “Germany’s best dealers” (Handelsblatt) and “Germany’s best online stores” (ntv and DISQ).
